A Cruise and an Inspiring Encounter – Grateful to Speak on Queen Anne

Posted on 11 Jul, 2025

An honour to speak aboard Cunard’s Queen Anne and an inspiring meeting with Captain Inger Klein Thorhauge.

Alan Chambers MBE, founder of Mission Spiritus®, was recently invited as a guest speaker on board Queen Anne, sharing the story behind Mission Spiritus® and its work in some of the most remote and fragile environments on Earth.

A standout moment was meeting Captain Inger Klein Thorhauge, the first female captain in Cunard’s history. Captain Inge, as she’s known to her crew, is originally from the Faroe Islands – the destination for our upcoming Mission Spiritus® expedition, which commences next week.

Alan said; “It was a privilege to speak with Captain Inge and gain her insight and local knowledge. Her deep connection to the Faroe Islands and wealth of maritime experience will help shape our thinking as we prepare to head north”.

Thank you, Captain Inge, and as ever, thank you Cunard for your continued support.
