The Expedition

January 2025

    Successfully completed the most comprehensive study of micro and nanoplastics in a desert environment to date.

    Over 21 days, the team traversed over 1100km through the Empty Quarter and Wahiba Sands, facing temperatures up to 39°C, towering dunes, and sandstorms reaching 50mph.

    All equipment was transported by 4x4, camel and on foot.

    Alongside groundbreaking scientific research, the expedition also conducted significant life science studies on human performance in extreme environments.

    A total of 52 sand samples were successfully collected, providing critical data that will advance global understanding of plastic pollution and its far-reaching effects.
